Funds for Historic Schoolhouse
Members of eBay Enterprise's Brunswick GIVE Team presented a $2,500 check to The Friends of Harrington School, Inc. for the restoration of the historic African American schoolhouse on St. Simons Island on October 28, 2014.
GIVE Team is an acronym for Grantmaking and Inspiring Volunteerism Everywhere. Employees at the Brunswick center for eBay Enterprises are dedicated to making a difference in the community. “Dan Zynda, an analyst at Ebay Enterprises in Brunswick and a volunteer at the annual Georgia Sea Island Festival sponsored by the St. Simons African American Heritage Coalition asked his company to call us,” stated Friends President Patty Deveau. “We were delighted to submit a grant and we look forward to an upcoming work day where the local eBay employees can work side by side with the historic preservation contractors to lend a hand as well as these funds to completing this important heritage tourism site.”
